Week One - Let The Nesting Begin!

Well, we officially made it through the first week of waiting. Waiting is something that is still so new that I often have to remind myself that we are finally in this place in the adoption process. I woke up this morning completely in the "nesting" mood. I have this desire to be writing lists of things we need to get done before the baby gets here...things like clean the trim and doors and reorganize every closet, cabinet, nook and cranny in our home, oh, and start researching cloth diapers. I also feel this strong pull to get rid of stuff...lots of stuff. I have been selling some things on Craig's List and my Goodwill pile seems to be getting bigger and bigger with each passing day. I don't remember nesting like this when I was pregnant with Blake...I kinda like feeling this way though...I like being productive and well, there is just so much to do!

Hi,

I found your blog through your mom's etsy shop (such great stuff). We are also in the waiting phase for our baby from Ethiopia. And we've been here since December. Hopefully, it's not too much longer. I'm not sure what agency you are with, but I hope yours has shorter wait times then ours.

Anyway, I was going to suggest that you not craigslist or goodwill your stuff - we piled all our stuff together and the stuff of many, many, many generous friends and are holding a giant rummage sale this weekend to help with the costs of the whole process.

Happy nesting! (Mine include making curtains for the baby's room and rearranging several rooms of furniture. :))

I love selling things on craigslist. My nesting instincts are also to get rid of things- to shed- to focus on what is important:)

Happy waiting time! As hard as it is to wait, it really is nice to finally be at this part of the journey. We are in week 14 of waiting. It has really gone quickly. I have been doing a lot of the nesting things also. It is a great way to pass the time! :)

I am feeling exactly the same way, just took a little longer into the process for me. I should try the Craiglist idea... right now I have a HUGE rummage sale pile. Good luck to you on your wait.

as soon as I hear that we are "officially waiting" I'm going to start decluttering and getting the nursery started.

I'm hoping we're travel buddies. YAY! :)

some players do not know that O-rings and cup seals can be damaged easily and this will hurt the paintball gun big time so it is a must to replace the cupseal before this happens. And for the player, always have a neck guard around to save the neck from those disturbing shots that hit your neck.  There may be a team available to do first aid when something goes wrong but it would make sense to carry a personal first aid kit.  Carry around spare basic safety “gadgets” like a mask, gloves, and pads and have a worry free paintball game.
